A Roll Of Self-Portraits and Other Things

A few weeks ago I started this roll with the main goal of taking as many self-portraits as I could.

It's pretty hard not to take a picture of yourself that is not blurry with a film camera. But it was a lot of fun. All the pictures I took of myself were at moments of leisure. Sheer joy and relaxation.

Let's start now, because the whole roll won't show itself. :)

This series of the three pictures were taken during a moment of pure bliss. I was reading this awesome book, A Cupboard Full of Coats by Yvette Edwards, drinking wine, I was really enjoying myself. Plus the window was open and I could hear everything going on in the building court. Dishes clinking, people talking, our opera singer neighbour singing... And I could smell a lot of different things, food, laundry detergent of clothes hanging out to dry at the windows, cigarette... I trully enjoy this. Being able to feel life happening around me by the window.

This is embarrassing. This is our living room on a particularly messy day. It's chaos. And it's all my fault. I make a mess everywhere I go.

The light bulb had just burnt out and I couldn't work without light so we installed the bed side lamp there. I thought it looked so cozy, I had to take pictures!

My bangs grew way too much.

Just got back from the craft fair in Chatillon with my face painted. Good thing I didn't rely completely on my film camera and I took pics with the digital one as well because this pic is yet another fail. :)

To finish up the roll, I decided to take pictures of me in front of my drawings. I'm planning on really doing something with them. I'm making more and more jewelry using them and I'm thinking of launching a crowd funding project in order to buy a badge making machine. 

I love drawing and I'd like to do more of that in the future.

Kitties + Cameras

This is what I've been doing all day... Kitties! Two are already sold, yay!

I've been waiting on a few packages from around the world. I ordered two cameras from eBay and I won a giveaway a month ago, I'm waiting for a beautiful art doll. Unfortunately the doll is stuck somewhere because my address couldn't be located... Wait, what?? Anyway, I'll go to the post office tomorrow to see if it's there. Not such a good mail week.

It took 2 weeks to the first camera I ordered to get to me, even though it was coming from France. The guy took his sweet time and in the end I can't open the battery compartment and the camera is not operational of course... It sucks because it seems like such a nice camera. Here it is:

It's a Minolta X-500.  I really hope I'll find a way to fix the problem.

And here is my little ray of sunshine coming from the UK in less than a week, with the sturdiest of packages, bubble wrap and all! 

I put a roll in it and started shooting. It's not the easiest of cameras to use but I'm very happy with my purchase. I hope I didn't mess up the pictures too bad and used the settings right. I'm really not sure I did.

As soon as I can I'll take a walk around Paris and shoot!

I'll now g back to my glass of wine...

Busy Week

This week I worked six days in a row. I didn't have much time for anything else.

The week flew by.

On my last day off I made a few necklaces with my drawings. It's nice to do something different. It changes from sewing. :)

These are the ones that turned out best. I messed up the resin part to glue the picture on most of them. Originaly I made six cabochons but only four were usable. I'm making more right now with a new drawing and some I couldn't get right the first time.

This is one of the new drawings I did at work. I think it's my favorite one so far.

I did this one yesterday. The days at work are pretty slow. Not many costumers. It's nice to go home and not feel like the day has been wasted because I have made drawings.

The summer sales started last week and I scored a few notebooks from Paperchase. I was looking for one to write my recipes down. The one with food on it will do just fine.

During the sales I also scored this little guy which is a pouch. I'll bring my sewing to work in it. I need to get some work done.

On my last day off a week ago I made souffles from the Julia Child cooking book I got for my birthday. I had no idea how a soufflé is supposed to be like texture wise. I think I did ok. Even if it doesn't show in the picture that they were 'souffléed', they actually were right out of the oven.

This is the birthday card from my Grand Pa. So sweet.

To hang in there during this very busy and restless week a lot of wine was consumed. :)
