Food Porn and Other Things

We are almost halfway through our stay in Toronto. So many things we still want to do. We're trying to plan a day trip to Niagara Falls and it makes me so excited.

But now, let me talk about food.
I usually don't like mac and cheese, at all. But we found this place called Bobbie Sue's near the place we rented and it blows my mind. Such delicious cheese, so much flavour, I'm just making myself hungry again.

A few nights ago I cooked, steak and mashed potatoes. It is kind of weird when at home I cook every single day and on vacation we eat out for lunch and dinner everyday. Felt good to cook a meal myself, as simple as it was.

Pecan pies! How I love you!

Lunch in the park on sunday...

...followed by reading.

A beautiful walk we took by the waterfront. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous ever since we got here. I even got a tan. :o

I was craving snails ever since I saw them at the grocerie store the other day, yesterday night I caved. What a wonderful meal!!! Wine, snails, a nice salad and pecan pie for dessert...

On today's walk.

Wendy by Walter Scott

Ooooh! This book! I first saw it after lunch in a museum gift shop. I was intrigued. I went through it really quickly, thought the graphics were nice and put it back on the shelf. On our way back tonight we stopped at an independent library by Trinity Bellwoods Park and it was there again. I bought it and I started reading it and just couldn't put it down.

I loved the story (a young artist in a big city trying to make it), the graphics, the quirkiness... I was so excited that I preordered the next volume that's going to come out in mid-november (on Amazon France though, maybe sooner in North America).

I love finding such wonderful things randomly.

Easter Week End - Food Galore and Little Things

For Easter I went to my parents with my boyfriend. We ate, drank and looked for eggs in the garden. :)

As usual my Mom fed us well. It's nice to live in France and have all of this great wine, cheese and pastries!

We had a successful hunt as you can see. :)
We brought back the stork statue from Alsace last October with my Grand Pa. He likes to move it around the garden when he goes to my parents'. He usually puts it in front of the dining room window so the stork can look at us eating and won't feel so alone.

Isn't my Grand Pa the cutest person ever? He's so much fun, always as a soothing word, he's the voice of reason and he's so modern in his way of thinking.

Vintage teapot my Grand Pa gave me for Christmas.
My brother and I collect poker chips from Harley Davidson stores all over the US. This how I display them. I actually did the same thing my brother did. :p

I cleaned up the apartment and thought it would be fun to have this little scene to look at.
The purple haired doll is playing for the loving couple. :p

I also worked a little. :)

L'Arbre Orange, Getting Inspired, and Cheese Puffs

Today I've been getting brooches ready (40 pieces) to send out to a Bourges shop. I'm very excited! The lady managing the shop is very nice and her ethics are the same as mine! We both want the prices as affordable as possible! Everybody should be able to afford handmade things.
I hope she'll like my brooches. Here is the flyer of her shop.

Lately I've been trying to use the supplies I already own instead of buying new ones all the time. It's hard to work with things you had lying around for a while. They are not as inspiring.
I came accross this illustration I don't remember where and it really struck me.

So I decided to pick beads and try to work out a design from them. For example I had these that somebody gave to me. They are not beads I would have bought for myself but since I have them, why not do something with them?

They inspired me a portrait brooch of course. Since they have fire on them, I thought of a Rock and Roll chick with leopard print clothes. Here's the result:

Same thing with these. I think these beads are really pretty but I never use them.

So here's what I did with them.

It's very satisfying to take some old stuff and get inspired. And it's pretty interesting to work out a design around it.

I've also been cooking and I tried my hand at 'gougères'. They are little cheese puffs. They are delicious and very fun to make!

Mine look like poop but they were yummy none the less. :)
I found the recipe here.

That's it for today. I have so many ideas and so much stuff to do!!! :D I'd better be going! ;)

March Goal, Oooops!

So I haven't been keeping up with my drawings, for 4 days now! :/
I've been rather busy...
On Saturday, We went to the restaurant for my Grand Father's Birthday. And then we took a walk in the Pere Lachaise Cemetary.

The delicious birthday cake, a fraisier, my favourite!

Jasmine tea, delicious as well!

A collection of Canon Ixus Cameras, mine, my Grandpa's and my Mom's.

Beautiful weather in Paris Saturday.

Père Lachaise.

I didn't draw, but I made lots of stuff, especially today! Business is finally coming back to normal! I hope it will stay that way for the weeks to come!

The purse I made today.

One of the brooches I made today as well.

In the mail I got the zippers I ordered. I couldn't wait to make something with them. :) So I made this pouch.

These are the neckalces I made using my drawings. I put the links to all the listings in the captions beneath the photos. You can also find some of my stuff on Etsy.

That's a lot of pictures :) I'm not done! :)

My kitty cuz' he's so cute :p

Me with bananas on my head. No bananas were hurt during the photo shoot (they were hurt after, I made smoothies with them *evil laugh* )

Ok, so now I guess I just have to go back drawing. I'm too tired today. But that's definitely on my to-do list. :o
