Walk in the Frosty Woods

I visited my Grand Pa on a very cold day in January. After lunch we went on a walk at the Etangs de Hollande. Everything was covered in frost, the lake was frozen. It was beautiful.

We've had some very cold days. It got a lot warmer lately. I hope I'll soon be able to read by the open window all day.

When I was a kid, we sometimes packed a picnic and went swimming in this lake.

Crafty January

I tried quite a few new things in January. Like these hammocks for my Spongebob plushies. I think they look awesome and add a nice touch to my side of the bed. :p

 Spongebobs love to linger in the morning sun.

I have a bunch of faux fur. I bought it two years ago if not more. I use it from time to time but not a lot. So I made this monster pouch to start with. I had ordered eyes on eBay for that purpose.

I received bigger looms. I can now make adult size hats! Yeah!

I had a big piece of felt I never got a chance to use, so I turned it all into the monster pouches.

Night ritual. Loom knitting in bed.

I finally took the time (with the help of the right tool) to do what I've been planning to do with these for months. In September during our stay in Toronto, I cut the beer cans Greg drank in order to make some kind of a wall decor with them. I found a big piece of very hard and thin wood agglomerate on the street and stapled the cans on it. 

It's missing a few, I need a bunch more to cover the whole thing. It will have to wait till our next trip.

I made a couple of hats for my plushies. I even bought a loom just to that extend... What can I say? I love my Christmas gift!

Pussy Hat Project

About a month ago, I got a message via Etsy from a girl who was looking for someone in Paris to knit a couple of pink pussy hats for her for the Women's March of  Jan. 21st.

I can't knit with needles and I just started knitting with a 14cm loom.

Somehow I found a way to make two human sized hats.

I didn't have much time to make them either, she sent me her first message on a tuesday and needed the hats by the next saturday. I love a good challenge from time to time :p

I met the girl at the metro station right after I took these pictures. I wore an electric blue faux fur Furby hat so she would recognize me. It took a couple of minutes, the hats exchanged hands ^^

Socks, Socks, Socks

Here are most of the pairs of socks I have made lately. I'm wearing a pair right now. I love them.

My indoors pictures are once again so blurry. 

This is the first pair I made. Making the heel was a real headscratcher. I watched a bunch of videos on YouTube and still couldn't figure out how you do a freaking heel, until I came upon this video.

Step by step explanation, going slow, that was all that I needed! :)

Finally I got my first heel done and many more.

I've been working on  a few other projects since then. I made a bunch of different hats, and right I'm working on my biggest project, without any real pattern, I'm just experiencing, I'm trying to make a sweater. We'll see where this will go.
