Home again!

 

We got home to a bunch of problems.

The washing machine died and shut off the power of the whole apartment at night fall.

And there was a leak in the pipes by the front door.

We have taken care of everything by now of course but it was pretty stressful.

Greg fixed the power pretty quickly.

The plumber came for the leak a couple of days later, it was nothing.

And we bought a new washing machine, but it took me ages to go through all the laundry.

We don't have much room and the weather was not very warm for all the clothes to dry. So I had to do it little bit by little bit.

 

We came home to these little beauties on the window sill, they didn't die while we were away, yeah!!

 

In September I started collecting all the beer caps of the beers we drank while on vacation.

I added more from our trip to Chicago.

 

I sent out a box of goodies to friends

My pretty painted rock found a new place to live :p

I found it on a walk in Chicago.

 

I made a new souvenir collage. I have pictures of it done by now.

Last Night in Chicago

 

Our last night in Chicago, we drank a few beers and went out to grab some dinner.

 

 

It was snowing!! and it stuck a little.

The starting point of this trip was to see snow in Chicago. We only had this little bit. That was enough for me to be happy. I'll come back for more some other time anyway. :p

We packed our bags and headed to the airport.

I know we'll be back some day. This city is too pleasant and beautiful for us not to come back.

 It was a very nice trip. Very familiar and confortable. We were not bothered by the cold, the city hadn't changed much in 3 years. Everything was as gorgeous as we remembered.

Beach Photoshoot

 

On the first day in Chicago, Greg wanted to visit the Disney store on Michigan Ave. And stupidly I thought to myself: 'Great! I won't spend any money here.'.  

And I found Lilo. 

Ten years ago I would visit Disneyland regularly and I was always disappointed to find tons of Stitch merchandise but never much Lilo.

So when I saw her cute little face (and her price), I was sold.

I ended up paying less than what was marked because she was on sale that day. ($22 tax included. I checked for her price here in France, she's 33€!!)

I knit her a scarf and a sweater so she wouldn't be cold on her beach adventures. :s
