Caravan Life

This week I was on a road trip to Haute Savoie with my Grand Pa. I do that every year. I had never been to Haute Savoie before though. We stayed at a camping near Annecy.

Here are a few shots I took with my tablet, they are mostly pictures of the caravan and the journey itself. I'll do another post with the pictures of the places and things we've seen. It was a fun trip, my Grand Pa is such good company. Always cheerful, nothing brings him down.

First, here was our ride and our home for the week. The caravan is 24years old, there were only 125 of those made. We used to travel and spend our vacation with our grand parents when my brother and I were kids and we would stay in campings in that very same caravan. I only have fond memories about it.

On The Road

I gathered these on our stop for the night. The last time I made a bouquet was ages ago!

My sweet Grand Pa

This is were we stayed for most of the week, near Annecy, right by the mountains.

The view from my room/dining area, not bad!

Watching Friends/sewing/drinking tea.

I love it when it rains and I'm inthe caravan, it feels so cosy. I just want to sew and drink tea. Which is basically what I do all the time no matter what. :p

My Grand Pa relaxing.

And now let me give you a tour of our home away from home :)

The bathroom, with toilet, sink and shower.

Kitchen.

My grand Pa's room.

My bedroom/dining area. the whole sitting area and table becomes a bed.

View from my seat/bed.

The fridge :)

I bought basil. I had never seen black basil before.

It was a fun trip. I'm exhausted though, my Grand Pa is one restless 80year old!

Little Things I Love About The US

It's always nice to go to the USA and find all thse things we don't have in France or are way out of my league here but affordable there. I love to try new products or get the ones I know and love again and again. :)
The following are just a few, there are so many little things I love about the US, bigger things as well :p
On my first day in New York I found the biggest blackberries I've ever seen! They were yummy and really cheap too :p It reminded me of when I was a little girl, we would go on walks in the countryside with my Grand Ma, we would pick blackberries and eat them along the way. They're pretty hard to find in France, and they are rather pricy.

I took my shoes off in Central Park, it was just sheer delight! I had to mention it!

When I bought my train fare for the week in Edison, NJ, the machine gave me my change back in $1 coins! I had never seen so many at once! And most of them were different from each other.

My flamingo in Central Park. :) He's hanging from my bag.

I love Vita Coco! Especially the one with peach and mango! I think it's one of my favorite beverage ever! So when I saw an ad for the lemonade one, I had to try it. It wasn't good at all though, well, to my taste. Too sour. But I'm glad I tried it, espacially with all the trouble I had to go through to find it, the stores I checked were always sold out.

I tried this as well, it was delicious! I had never tried anything macrobiotic before. I just loved the packaging :p

My faithful companion when I go to the US! I don't know why, I just love Smart Water. I also love the silly pictures behind the label that you can see through the bottle.

Found this at Forever 21 and thought it was hilarious! Didn't buy though, and it's a good thing! I had 4 mugs to bring back home already.

Haaaa! Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler! Starring in another movie! Can't wait for it to be released in France! Two of my favorite actors!

One of my favorite thing to do when I go to the US is beauty products shopping! Especially anything concerning nails. I scored big this time!

I cannot walk through a park without one of these! ^^ I'm a big Spongebob fan.

I had to try this tea. It was yummy. I saved the cap of course!
I have my habits when I go to the US, they always set me up in vacation mode. There is so much choice as well that I have to try a few new things every time. It's fun. It's part of the American culture and I love to explore it. Even if it's in the littlest things.

One Week In New York

I'm just back from a week in New York with my Mom. That was fun! So many things to see, shopping to do and walking! That was a great week!
Here is a post with all of my favorite digital pictures. I brought along my film camera but I have to find a place to get my pictures developped, and even in Paris, it's not easy to find! It had been a while since I took pictures on rolls and the prices to get them developped increased so much!

I took a lot of pictures of course. :) I'm not very happy with the ones I took with my little digital camera. I really hope the ones on film will be better.

On the first three days I was by myself because my Mom had to work. So I walked all day in Manhattan without a real goal. First thing I saw was the Flatiron. I love the little park right next to it. I had been there a couple of years ago with my brother and a couple of friends.

I've been to Times Square as well. New York is so overwhelming. I think this picture shows it well! Not an inch of spare space.

This was on the second day, in Greenwich Village.

 The Empire State Building.

Statue in Union Square. I love how the buildings in the background are so different from one another!

On the fourth day my Mom was finally done with work. We went to the Chelsea market. What a fun place! We had lobster and took a walk in Chelsea.

We went to the High Line. It looks a lot like the Promenade Plantée in Paris! Old railroad tracks and plants everywhere!

I was so excited when we saw this statue in a mall right across the street from Central Park! It is in the movie Enchanted. I love the movie and it was a regret of mine not to have found it on my first stay in New York. In the movie, Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey walk through the hall, she sees the statue and says the lady is beautiful. :)

Well, that's it for now! I'm sorting out my pictures. I have a 'Little Things' post I want to do with some of them. A bunch of the little things I love when I go to the USA.
I bought so much cosmetics I have to try them now, I'd love to make an entry about that too!
