At the end of our trip we visited the  Hoyt Arboretum.

It was a beautiful day and a beautiful place to be in the first few days of fall.

Another trip to Powell's city of books. Clearly my favorite store in all of Portland! 

 We got to see Karen Lovely performing at Jimmy Mak's. 

It was one of my goals going to Portland. My dad introduced me to her music a few years ago and all I could think about once at the club was him. I got to meet the sweet Karen, she signed my dad's birthday card.

I bought quite a lot of duck tape. It always come in handy and I use quite a lot throughout the year.

Two of my main accessories this summer. The only thing missing is my camera.

A wonderful dinner we had on the Ecliptic brewery patio. Mussels and beer, I couldn't have been happier.

 

 

After the mussels+beer dinner, we walked home and stopped by the Plaid Pantry (similar to 7/11). It was a fun walk at night, we were kind of tipsy. We had to walk by all these sleazy motels along the way.

Then it was time for my weekly Project Runway dose. :)

Greg's tattoo

 

September 23.

On this day we both got tattooed. Another ritual when I travel to the US, getting tattooed by a local artist.

 

I got tattooed first and had to wait a few hours for Greg to get his piece. I read Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile while waiting.

 

Ha! Blurry! But here is my new tattoo.

 

In my whole life, I spent more time in tattoo shops than at the hair dresser's. My mom cut my hair for a long time then I did it myself. Last time I got my hair professionaly styled was when when I was 10 or something like that. 

I got a few tattoos over the years and went with my friends and family whenever they were getting one and I could tag aong. So yeah, that's a lot of hours spent in tattoo shops.

 

 Elli Adams was our artist.

She was super sweet and we loved her style.
