Chinese New Year In Paris

Better late than never... I finally got the roll of the Chinese new year pictures back from the lab.
My friend Estelle came to visit me here in Paris to try out her new camera. We had planned a day of picture taking and ending up shopping until maybe 3pm. We were exhausted from all the shopping but we heard the parade at the end of my street and we just had to do what we first intended. So we grabbed the camera and followed the dragons. :)

Little cutie to finish the roll :)

365 Fail

I started a project 365 on January 22nd and that was the end of it on... February 11...
I was very excited about it on the first few days because I used my film camera and it's always a real pleasure but I quickly realized that since I'm hardly ever going out of the apartment, the possibilities were limited and the project would be very boring.
I had a bunch of ideas I wanted to use for my pictures but a lot of times the day was coming to an end and I just shot whatever I could... And that sucks.

Me taking a break from cooking

Picture of my computer screen.

My night table. I had no idea the pictures would come back in black and white. Well, it was a black and white roll but last time I dropped one at the lab it came back in colors.

Drying my hair and reading, bliss!

Drinking wine. I took the oppurtunity of the 365 project to train myself at selfportrait. Not too good...

My Grand Pa in his car

Me in the shower(this one was fun)

Big trout, terrible aim

La Place de la Republique

Scary Clay doll

Japanese lanterns for sale at the BHV. Too bad it was a black and white roll for this one.

Greg vaping in bed

My hand because I had not other idea of what to shoot (the boring I was referring to)

The messy table when I work

Sushi night watching Top Chef on a monday

Scary self portrait on dusty mirror

Paris buildings

Fancy cup

(A new roll, back to colors!) On a walk with my Dad and his Dad

I don't know who's the artist behind these but I love the style and they are all over Paris!

Bonus shots of my very cute Grand Pa and his bowtie :p

Seven Months

It took me seven months to bring this roll of pictures to the lab and get them back... There was the last pictures of our trip to Chicago on it, from last september!!

Beer outside the apartment... How I miss it... How I miss this city and the USA in general.
We bought our plane tickets for next september to Portland, OR, but still haven't found a place to stay. I'm not worried yet, maybe I should be because finding a place to stay in Portland seems to be a bitch!

Haaa, bare legs and bare feet.... See you in a few months!

I don't remember the exact date but this one must be from an october walk I took by the Canal Saint Martin with my friend Estelle. I love going there especially because of the great street art which is ever changing. Here we go:

Film camera, how I love you!

I got all the rolls lying around developped. I'm going on a road trip with my Grand Pa in two days, it won't take me seven months to bring them to the lab again.

Easter Week end

I've been living on chocolate for a good 24hrs now and my belly is not so happy anymore. Oh well, that will pass. :) We went to my parents' on friday night with the idea of going to the market on saturday morning. My Mom told me there was a fabric seller there and I was very excited to buy more fabric but unfortunately, I didn't find anything.
That doesn't really matter because I was there to spend time with my family. :)
My Dad gave me this book. I love Billie Holiday. I wrote my thesis in college about her and I even have a tattoo of her face on my arm. I was very touched that my Dad got me a present. For no reason. That is very unusual.

We ate a lot and drank a lot. I got to try this japanese whiskey and I loved it. Very interesting taste.

That's from one of the pastry shops in Rambouillet. How pretty and colorful are these!

I made this cushion as a present to my Mom. I was so excited to give it to her.

I asked her to take pictures of me because I was wearing the blouse I made, with sleeves!!! She started by only taking close up portraits... Not what I wanted! I didn't really care about my face...

Me telling her how I want the photo framed.

Finally!!!

And here is tonight's production (and my Billie Holiday tattoo btw). I learnt how to make button holes with my machine and I made a lapel! yay! This top is fuuuuull of flaws but I'm happy I gave it a try. And I love the fabric!

That's it for today, happy Easter!
